Like many people, the students of MileStone Academy created Vision Boards to start the New Year. Vision Boards have been popular since the release of the book The Secret in 2006 and have been featured on talk shows like Oprah and Steve Harvey. The theory is by creating a visual representation of your goals and keeping it in a place for you to see often you will make decisions to help realize your goals.

Milestone Academy opened on Cedar Road in Jenkintown on September 8, 2015.
Run by administrators formerly of Center School in Abington and The Quaker School at Horsham, the school is designed for high school students who need a structured, specialized, accommodated learning environment. Milestone is housed in the Ukrainian Cultural Community Center on Cedar Road. This temporary home is familiar territory, as it was also the founding location of Center School, now in its twenty-seventh year.

This year we have attended the Outdoor School in Horsham, and will be making another day trip there on June 2nd. The Outdoor School provides an environmental science program on their wooded campus. Everyone finds success and challenge in this rustic school in the great outdoors.
Other trips included a March trip to the Eastern Center for Arts and Technology which provided insight into a variety of potential career training opportunities. Students observed classes in commercial art, emergency response, auto mechanics, building construction and much more.
