Ms. Jana McNear, MileStone Academy’s English and Language Arts Teacher decided to expose our students to Shakespeare, which can challenge most students. They read Romeo and Juliet, each had a part, and every morning they read a section of the play and watched a portion of the 1996 film version of the play that coincided with what they read.
We continued the theme in art with Ms. Beth Shapiro, where each student created a personal coat of arms and a mask to represent their character.
Shakespearean language is not easy, but– they have PERSEVERED and have enjoyed the play.
