Egg Drop Challenge
June 2021, By Ms. Sheila Appel – Science Teacher
The Egg Drop Challenge is MileStone Academy’s most loved learning activities throughout the school year.
This is a STEM lesson that reinforces the design method and working in teams to solve a problem. Student pairs were given 20 paper straws, a roll of masking tape, a plastic bag, and a raw egg.
The students had to construct a container that was able to protect the egg when tossed from a second-floor window.
Christian Jeter’s and Xavier Lucas’, working solo, eggs survived impact, as well as teammates Malik Jeter and Kashif Turner.
Humpty Dumpty would never have to be put together if these guys were around!
