How We Do It
MileStone Academy’s professional staff specialize in teaching students with diverse learning challenges, use research-based materials and well-known instructional practices to engage and encourage critical thinking and high achievement.
With a 5:1 student to teacher ratio, students are offered an educational program based upon differentiated instruction. They also receive the support necessary to investigate new technology or and learn new strategies and skills like fundraising to pay for an upcoming trip.
MileStone’s multi-sensory instruction stimulates visual, auditory and tactile senses to enhance memory.
We integrate study skill strategies with subject area knowledge to enhance academic proficiency.
Technology is integrated and individualized to enhance individual learning and to help students develop organizational skills.
Why We Do It
MileStone Academy was founded in 2015 by a small group of parents and educators who wanted to establish a school for students with language-based differences.
Our VISION for educating students (so they become confident, productive 21st century learners) has not changed since the idea was conceived almost six years ago. Our student population, on the other hand, continues to evolve and grow.
