Words Matter

Words Matter Quote of the Week

The Words Matter Movement involves being a practitioner of careful, thoughtful and deliberate positive communication. Amazingly, words excite, inspire, elate, sadden, frighten, anger or give hope. Language is behavior.

Words are singularly the most powerful force available to humanity. We can choose to use this force constructively with words of encouragement, or destructively using words of despair. Words have energy and power with the ability to help, to heal, to hinder, to hurt, to harm, to humiliate and to humble. — Yehuda Berg

Berg’s quote is so true; we often forget how our words, whether spoken or written affect others.

I believe that positive words have a positive effect on us. Moreover, I want our community to be deep in positivity. We are going to start a year-long project with positive messages.

About the Quote of the Week Program

Starting the January 2021, we will publish a positive quote submitted from a member of our community to inspire us all.

We will post the quote on our bulletin board in school, on our social media pages, and newsletters.

Each member of our community has been given a week. It is that individual’s’ responsibility to find an
inspirational quote, design a graphic for their quote and explain why they like the quote.

To ensure enthusiastic participation we will be offering incentives to the Best Quote of the Month and then Quote of the Semester. Stay tuned for details.

Please see this week’s quote of the week in our Advisory Classroom, bulletin board outside the main office, Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, Pinterest. or Twitter.
